This Old Fashioned Image was scanned from a Circa 1868 Children’s Magazine belonging to Karen from the graphics fairy. You will have to run over there is you want a copy of the original black and white as no one is allowed to share the originals from her site as is.

 But  I will post a mini (the original is huge 300 dpi) so that you can see the before and after.  Using coloring tools in Photoshop or Corel you can color vintage black and white images much like mine on the right. How she came to be colored thus tho was an accident which I will share on the Inferior design page tomorrow if I have time.  However I have t say it was a happy mistake because in the end I think she came out gorgeous and I share her with you to be able to put on cards tags and what not. The clear PNG verions (and there are something like 6 total for this) will be in the store soon and free for members.  Anyway Enjoy and lets see your DIY projects with her.

This is an image from the catalog pages of S.A. Smith & Company 1883. The Tally Ho Sulky which they bill as a "boys" only item as well as for 15 year olds. Now I don't know about you but weren't boys 15 years of age already learning the family business and already had a real horse? I just don't see 15 years olds from any era wanting to play on this lol. But I would...and I am a girl.

So I have a wonderful surprise for you.  You see I came across the vintage photo of the little girl on the left about 2 weeks ago and I always keeping my eyes open for the gorgeous, fun and unusual.  I then came across the Happy Birthday Card below a week later.  I had thought the little girl was familiar so I went through my shots and lo and behold its the same girl!  This is the first time I have ever come across this situation and I had to share it with you.

I call her creepy doll for a reason.  Look into her large eyes on the left and they are mesmerizing and spooky.  Such a beautiful little girl.  I wonder who she is and where she is now.

This is a wonderful PNG cleaned up copy of John Tenniel's Alice in Wonderland. This is where Alice discovers the "Drink Me" bottle.  These have been in public domain for quite a while and you can use it to your hearts content! Tis wonderful is it not?! Show us what you do with it!

This unusual Sunlight Soap ad featured an endorsement by Dr. Charles A. Cameron Who states " I use it in my own Toilette." Which of course my first thought was "toilet" and for a brief second thought, "Wait I thought it was laundry soap not toilet bowl cleaner." Ok derka moment there but I couldn't help the track my brain was on.  Then of course I understood what the good Dr. meant. What I found interesting is he was talking about the alkali. I didn't even realize people were even concerned about such things in 1876. But there you go.
