This particular image is a sketch done by Charles Dan Gibson. The artist famous for the "Gibson Girl" images. This was done in pencil and then pen and inked over. If you look closely you can still see the pencil marks. It was also signed by Mr. Gibson in the far left bottom corner. Truly remarkable work.
