The Art of Playing Sudoku In Color Form "Bendoku"

2/23/2015

I am an avid lover of Sudoku.  I have no idea why since I am terrible with math and break out with huge scathing hives whenever I see numbers. Maybe it's the fact that I actually can count to 9 and no one requires me to add anything together.  Regardless I love the challenge.  Now imagine my excitement when I found out that Benjamin Moore offers a free app "Bendoku"  which is sort of like Sudoku but for the colorist lover artist like me!  It also as you can see by the image on the left that is has a bit of crossword
influence as well.  Except no guessing strange obscure words and names for the person who ate what in 1692. Super plus there!

So what exactly is Bendoku?  Well Bendoku is based on the popular game Blendoku, created by Lonely Few, LLC. Blendoku and is a worldwide sensation that has received five stars on the Google Play store and has over three million downloads to date. Players complete levels by moving paint color chips onto a puzzle board completing blends from one color to another. There are a total of 250 levels, each increasing in difficulty. As users progress through levels they can save their favorite colors and share them on Facebook and Twitter. Players can also promote their color expertise via social media when each color collection level pack is completed.  Not that I care about sharing the colors on social media but figuring out the color blending is fun and its FREE.

So how do you play Bendoku? It is based on color principles and exercises taught in art schools around the world. Players complete levels by moving paint color chips onto a puzzle board completing blends from one color to another. To get to the next level, a player fills in the empty squares from the palette to create smooth sequences of colors both horizontally and vertically.  Do you have a good idea for color? This might be super fun for you.  It starts out simple and gets more complex like the image above.

Ok so where do you get it?  Well I just may have the link for you here: Itunes and Google Play and of course Kindle.  Oh and did I say FREE?  Yep colors and playing...no brainer right?

The Art of playing and playing well is one of life's necessities but I say its actually mandatory.  Go play and tell me what you think.
