We start off the 4th Of July early with this image of a vintage post card featuring a boy dressed as Uncle Sam. He carries a flag, a gun, and sets fire to his canon as well as a load of fireworks at his feet.  Its a wonderful image so I hope you can use it for up coming projects.

This little boy is looking on top of his game and is dressed to the nines. A beautiful hand colored vintage image of a very studious little boy.

"To the nines" is an english idiom meaning "to perfection" or "to the highest degree" or to dress "buoyantly and high class". In modern english usage, the phrase most commonly appears as "dressed to the nines" or "dressed up to the nines" (Wikipedia)

This is a boy dressed in a luxurious blue velvet sailor outfit. A very popular dress for boys in the late 1800's. It would normally be accompanied by a pair of knee high knickers. This is a scrap image found in an old scrapbook glued to the cover.  Isn't' he a handsome tot?

This Old Fashioned Image was scanned from a Circa 1868 Children’s Magazine belonging to Karen from the graphics fairy. You will have to run over there is you want a copy of the original black and white as no one is allowed to share the originals from her site as is.

 But  I will post a mini (the original is huge 300 dpi) so that you can see the before and after.  Using coloring tools in Photoshop or Corel you can color vintage black and white images much like mine on the right. How she came to be colored thus tho was an accident which I will share on the Inferior design page tomorrow if I have time.  However I have t say it was a happy mistake because in the end I think she came out gorgeous and I share her with you to be able to put on cards tags and what not. The clear PNG verions (and there are something like 6 total for this) will be in the store soon and free for members.  Anyway Enjoy and lets see your DIY projects with her.
