I did however change more then the legal 40% of the image making it my own however I would still use caution when using this image. Be sure to use it only for personal projects and do not resell the image in, on or within anything commercial. If you wish to show it on your blog a link back will be relevant. As is common with art of the day this was more than likely a paid image for the magazine compensating the artist by payment and that the image would technically belong to Collier's which went bankrupt in 1957. With the company Trademark being purchased in 2010 and though the buyers plan to revive the brand I doubt they have the rights to the originals as they only purchased the trademark. It may entirely be in the public domain but again caution to not claim it as your own and be careful how you use it. I also had a hard time figuring out who the artist was even though you can sort of make out a name. If you know more about it please write me. See my TOU.
